My GI Joe

My GI Joe with the kung-fu grip
was my favorite when but a boy
I'd play with him for hours on end
He was a great childhood toy

My two closest brothers and I
would whittle away all the hours
with imaginative wartime fantasies
how Joe would cope with evil powers

I'm not sure which I miss the most
the toy, the stories or the company
but when I remember those days
I wear a smile for all to see
